Arriving from Scottsdale to Tucson on the laborious i-10 - Arizona’s version of Interstate 5 - one thing that was clear was that the heat that had wrapped us from Death Valley, through the Mojave and down into Arizona was going nowhere. The past week has been spent in a ‘Extreme Heat Warning’ zone, with a daily average high of 114℉, hiking and exploring was kept to early morning (pre 9am) and post sunset. Having said that, we managed to spend three mornings at Saguaro West and East and the forests of Saguaro Cactus have been incredible.
